Erectile dysfunction
when the erection is no longer reliable
Erectile dysfunction refers to the persistent or recurrent inability to achieve or maintain an erection sufficient for sexual intercourse. Many men are affected during their lifetime, regardless of age. The causes can be varied: from physical changes in the vascular system to hormonal or neurological disorders to psychological stress.
Shockwave Therapy for Erectile Dysfunction (ESWT)
Extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) is a modern, painless method in which focused, electromagnetically generated shock waves are specifically transmitted to the penis over several sessions. This regenerates weakened or narrowed blood vessels – blood circulation improves permanently, and erectile function can fully recover.
Costs & Services
The treatment usually consists of six weekly sessions of 15-20 minutes each.
Usually, the situation improves after a few sessions. We therefore generally recommend at least a 6-week treatment, after which the successes can often be assessed.
With the 6-week package, the Urology Center Vienna covers the cost of one session (150 euros).

Erectile dysfunction means that a man cannot achieve or maintain a sufficient erection during sexual arousal that is adequate for satisfactory sexual intercourse.
Many men are affected: It is estimated that numerous men between the ages of 40 and 70 suffer from erectile dysfunction at least temporarily.
In many cases, yes – especially if the causes are recognized early. There are medication therapies, interventions such as injections or vacuum devices, and newer approaches like shock wave therapy.
Extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) is a non-invasive approach in which low-energy sound waves are specifically directed at the penis to stimulate new blood vessels and improve blood circulation.
A typical session lasts about 15 minutes. Depending on the protocol, several zones (penile shaft, base, crura) are treated.
